I’d leave the kindle if i were you and rather carry a paperback book with me. You’d need plenty of toilet roll and sunscreen although I think it’s rainy season that has started in India recently and will probably continue by the time you are there so perhaps ditch the shorts for a jacket?
Thanks for the advice! We have not a lot to do in our freetime on the farm so the kindle is a must also for internet, but I might chuck the DS. I’ve got my pack-a-mac for the rain. I’ve got toilet roll and sun cream, we’re staying with a western toilet so it won’t be too bad toilet wise.
I won’t trust a hotel too
oooh and carry lots of small bills, like them 10 rupee notes because most people in hospitality expect to be tipped in india and if you have a 100 rupee bill then you’re gonna be broke in a day!
Oh thanks for that tip. I’m staying on a farm so my belongings are safe it’s a charity foundation. It’s miles away from civilisation and we have our own locks.
Yay then take lots of pictures! Which state btw?
It’s about an hour outside of New Delhi. Can’t wait. Yes yes plenty of blog posts to come.
ah, nice. I’ve been to Delhi as a kid, really liked it back then.
Well I’m happy to receive any advice you have for me
bottled water? my friend from india told me today that the tap water there is a no go, and even if they tell you it’s boiled you shouldn’t drink it…
Thanks for the tip Daisy. I’ll be sure not to BLERGH!
Hi daisy,
Do you really think that you won’t get bottled water in India??? Specially in and around Delhi??
I am from Delhi, btw.
Daisy was just reminding me not to drink the water from the tap. I wasn’t in Delhi though anyway I was in a small village about an hour outside, where bottled water was rare but we had enough filtered water
I will be going to New Delhi in Feb 2013. I am going to use your same packing list e crept I am bringing my IPad and not a net book. Sylvia
I think I probably got it about right in the end. I didn’t take my DS which I’m glad about. Also I had to use to pumps for meetings but had I not been doing business I think I would have been fine with just hike boots and flip flops. Those flip flops broke and I had to buy a new pair but they were super cheap. Have a great time in Delhi.
